Are my lab tests in yet?
All lab tests will be emailed or mailed to you when we receive the final results and after your MD has reviewed them. Some tests can take up to 4 weeks to be final. Most conventional labs will be final within 1-2 weeks. Most specialty or functional medicine labs will be final within 2-4 weeks. You do not need to call the office-these tests will be emailed or faxed at one week before your follow up appointment. Specialty lab results are sent directly to you from the lab. If you live in New York State however, some specialty lab tests will be mailed from our office.

I just received my lab tests in the mail and they look abnormal. I am worried.
All tests are reviewed by your doctor before they are sent to you. If there are abnormal lab results that need immediate attention the doctor will have our nurse contact you. All other abnormal results are pieces of your biochemical puzzle. Do not be alarmed if some of your test results are high or low. Your doctor will address these findings at the time of your appointment.

I am home now and confused and not sure about how perform my take home test kits.
Each test kit has detailed instructions in it. Please read and follow the instructions carefully. Some patients find it helpful to lay out everything in the test kit and then underline or highlight important points on the instruction sheet to keep them on task.

Can I take my medication/supplements when doing my take home tests?

Exception-If you are performing certain stool tests, you cannot take prescription antifungals or antibiotics or probiotics. The detailed instruction sheet enclosed with the test kit will tell you how long to wait after taking a course of these medications or supplements before performing the test.

The Organix urine test requires I only drink 24 ounces of fluid the day before my urine collection. That is really a small amount of fluid!
Organic acids must be very concentrated in the urine for accurate results. Many patients buy a 24 oz. bottle of water and ration it throughout the day. The lab will reject your sample if it is too dilute.

Can I do my tests on a weekend and mail them on Monday?
