MAGGIE WARD, MS, RD, LDN is the Nutrition Director at The UltraWellness Center. Maggie holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Bastyr University, which places a whole foods, holistic approach on nutrition therapy. In addition, she has extensive clinical training through the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Prior to joining The UltraWellness Center team in 2008 Maggie worked at The Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York, providing nutrition counseling to families dealing with HIV. She also taught at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan teaching nutritionally focused cooking classes for children and adults.
Much of her focus is on food allergies, digestive disorders, inflammatory conditions, childhood nutrition and athletics. Maggie has been counseling individuals, families and business groups on nutrition and various health concerns for the past 10 years. She has a passion for cooking and reconnecting people with their potential to heal using whole foods and a biological systems approach to healing.
Maggie was featured on Sesame Street in the fall of 2008, teaching cooking classes for children. She is sought after for her nutrition advice for various health publications including, Experience Life, Daily Health News and Natural Living – KONK AM 1500. She is currently the Director of the Nutrition Coaching Program for The Diabesity Prescription, Dr. Mark Hyman’s program to reverse and prevent diabetes and insulin resistance.
Maggie lives in Lenox with her husband and daughter, and enjoys running, yoga and traveling.
