Training in Meditation and Stress-Reduction Techniques

The UWC has expanded our meditation and stress-reduction offerings with a new online course called: Training in Meditation and Stress-Reduction Techniques. The course meets for one hour each week for four weeks. It is a combination of lecture and experience. Beginners and experienced meditators are all welcome. If you know that stress, anxiety, or feeling stuck play a role in your life, then this training will give you tools to feel more at ease, clearer on next steps, and motivated with a sense of joy toward thriving. By the end of the training you will have learned:
• Different types of meditation, so you can choose those that work best for you
• Quick stress-relieving techniques to use anytime throughout the day
• Breathing practices to help create a sense of calm in the moment and create a stronger foundation for resilience going forward
• Scientific explanations for what’s happening in the body so your mind can wrap around the profound benefits
• Tips for incorporating this into your life in seamless ways
• And more
You will have plenty of time to practice these techniques with the group and on your own. In addition, the experience of being with a group during a course based in compassion, mindfulness, and stress-reduction produces calming effects. Empower yourself with these important life skills and be able to enjoy life from the simplest pleasures to making your bigger dreams come true.
This course will be offered virtually via Zoom beginning on Tuesday, March 23 , 2021 at 7:00 PM EST and will continue every Tuesday at the same time on March 30, April 6, and April 13.
