Nutrition and wellness trackers are all over the app store, but identifying which ones are best is tricky to say the least! The apps below were chosen for their unique features that make healthy choices easier.

Cron-o-meter

  • What is it? Cron-o-meter is a fitness and calorie-tracking app. This app has a companion website which allows you to enter complicated recipes or foods with ease. The breakdown of foods goes beyond macronutrients — Cron-o-meter allows you to have detailed analyses of the micronutrients in your foods as well.

Allergy Eats

  • What is it? Allergy Eats has a database of over 850,000 restaurants nationwide and is able to filter your  dining options based on major food allergies. Other users are able to leave real-life experiences and comments about the restaurants.
  • Cost: Free

Probiotic guide, US

  • What is it? This guide is full of the latest science-based evidence on all things probiotics.  It includes  analyses of different strains of bacteria, information on commercial brands, and the ability to filter by medical indication.

Bowelle

  • What is it? Bowelle is an IBS symptom tracker. A food diary component allows users to identify trends between  symptoms and  particular foods they may be consuming. The data is transformed into graphs which are easy to share with your doctor.

Hydration tracker

  • What is it? Hydration is an absolutely essential component of health. This app allows you to quickly track how much and what type of fluid you are consuming. You can set reminders, so you’ll drink more water,  and the data will sync with the Health App on the iPhone.
