About Lauren Stinson-Hamel, MS, RD, LDN
Lauren Stinson-Hamel, MS, RDN, LDN, is a registered dietitian who began her early professional career in financial services, helping small businesses and entrepreneurs receive funding. Lauren studied Business Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While working in finance, she deepened her interest in mindfulness practices and the healing properties of food. She began her study of human nutrition at Bauman College, where she completed a Holistic Nutrition Consultant training program. During her career transition, Lauren worked as a Community Health Promoter, supporting public health campaigns to deliver nutrition and health education to a variety of populations.
Lauren holds a Master of Science in Nutrition degree from Bastyr University. During her graduate studies, she worked with a team of researchers at Fred Hutch Cancer Center, investigating nutrition and physical activity interventions in breast cancer survivors. She completed her dietetic training at UCSF Medical Center with a focus on nutrition therapy in acute cancer care and pediatric GI services.
Lauren continues to study Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and recently completed professional training in mindfulness-based approaches to eating and wellness (MB-EAT). She is passionate about connecting with others through supportive foods and lifestyle practices.
Lauren is a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) with additional training in Yin and restorative styles of yoga. She loves experimenting in the kitchen, playing with her daughter, dancing, training in the gym, and taking long walks in nature. She lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband, daughter, two dogs, and two cats.

Working with Lauren
Your initial 50 minute appointment with Lauren can be done in person at The UltraWellness Center or virtually if you are unable to travel. During your initial appointment, Lauren will take the time necessary to understand your medical and nutritional history and will then create a comprehensive nutrition and lifestyle plan. Lauren may recommend Functional Medicine testing and/or dietary supplements if needed.
